We use a rear hatch mounted bike carrier (it cost around $90.00, by "Hollywood") which accommodates all 4 of our bikes. We reinforced the interior of the hatch door to support the lower hatch area where the rubber padded rack makes contact with the door. The upper pad of the rack sits on the glass just above the lower window seal area. We've used this rack for years without any problems. Based on some of what I'm reading regarding the prices of bike racks, it was very economical. In addition, we've found that those foam pool noodles make great protective spacers between bikes (and other purposes). You can find them already cored, or can easily core them yourself (hole saw works great!). If anyone is interested in more details, feel free to email us with your questions.
