Lots of talk about syncro diffs, I have checked the FAQs, the archives and listened to all the recent talk: I have 3 questions:

1) the PO removed the diff-lock-servo from the tranny as the connection from the servo to the plunger-pin (in the tranny) was broken. Is there a manual way to hook this up? Like using a choke cable from the dash to the tranny plunger/activater pin?

2) The hoses to the vacuum balls were whining, so I removed the Y connector and corked the hoses with golf tees. Am I doing any harm?

3) What is the advantage of a vacuum activated diff-lock over a mechanical push-pull cable??

Thanks,Malcolm S
