In this country '86 was the first year but I talked to Forest at German
Transaxle and he told me a story of a couple that had an '82 diesel syncro
that they brought over from England and were touring the US in.  Seems the van
was pretty beat up and rusty and they had problems with the CV joints on the
front CVs braking because they couldn't get the front end to line up properly.
Solution:  Removed drive shaft and continued thier wanderings.
Just thought I would throw you guys a curve ball.
