OK just wanted to finally let the list in on what I have been aluding to for the past few months and what some of you have already guessed. I have been working to get together a fairly complete conversion kit to put the 5-cylinder Audi/VW motor into a Vanagon (the stock setup for the current Caravelle in South Africa). The deal is ready to go through and I will be importing 5 kits as a beta test to see if there is real interest in this project. Three of the kits are already spoken for so two are up for grabs. These kits will allow you to put a 5-cylinder motor into a manual transmission Vanagon (syncro or 2wd) only. They never did the Automatic thing in SA so the parts for that conversion are not available there (though I am working on getting an adapter setup to do this as well from another source.) So the kits will include most of the parts that you will need to do a nice, stock looking, installation. Email me privately and I will give you a list of the parts. The kits will cost around $1500. You will need (in addition to the kit) a complete motor with wiring harness, motor mounts and starter. And you will need to have the last part of the exhaust system custom made for you at a muffler shop (decided that this was the best way to go as the stock system is restrictive, won't fit on campers, and getting this last bit made is not very expensive). So if you are interested in getting a kit please email me. Now if you are interested in getting some other parts from South Africa I am sure that we could work this out for you as well. Other parts you would be interested in: 20 gal fuel tank Vented larger front disk brake setup SA round headlight grille SA lower full width grille (mount some hellas in it and make your own Projektwzo grille!) I can get these parts for you. I would need money in advance for them as most of my cash flow is going to be tied up with bringing the kits over. So if you are interested in these items as well please contact we soon. I am shipping the kits (and other stuff) in the next couple of weeks. Thanks Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
