Up here in the Great Northland, a Grasshopper is someone who refuses to wait in line at those freeway on-ramps with traffic light controls, and veers around the vehicles ahead of him (yes, it is usually a him), driving over the grass side median and up to the front of the entrance ramp.

This may be why some people in metropolitan areas own Syncros, or other lesser forms of SUVs.

Obviously, the grasshopper migrates south at the first winter storm, elsewise he would gain the moniker of snowman or snowball.
