Tom Young asked about buying some precision measuring tools. Well, less than a year ago I went to an auction sale of a business called Precision Bearing Company. The owner had died and his widow was selling everything. They had tables and tables of new stuff, most of which didn't interest me. Then I spotted a vernier caliper that opens up to 18 inches!!! (that's huge) and I decided I'd stay to bid on it. I have a tendency to buy things at auctions, and by the time I got out of there, I was about $400 lighter but happy, though I confess most of it is still in the boxes I used to cart it away. Boxes of bearings, all new in their wrappings. Did you mention micrometers? These are some German brand which are supposed to be wonderful stuff, and they are in wooden boxes with foam inserts. I tried to get a variety of sizes.

I'll try to inventory some of these and offer them to the List members for cheap prices. If this seems like a good deal, let me know.

John
