Hello, I'm new to the list and we are looking into getting a Vanagon. There is a 84 for sale that needs a few smaller type things, but doesn't seem to have any major problems. There is a bit of noise that sounds like a rear wheel bearing, at 50+ mph. Any chance that could be transaxle? Next, should I really look for a newer one, or is there that big of a difference. $ 2400 is the asking price. Also considering a Diesel, and convert it to gas, but my time is short with other projects right now, and I don't know when I would get around to it. There is one close by I could get for a decent price. thanks in advance, Mark |
