Answers to your questions...

#1: Drill through the head? I thought questions like that are supposed to be asked only on Friday!

#2: If the cable ties are holding it tight and steady, leave it that way.

#3: The valve does not work off the heat of the engine. It is electrically controlled by the ECU.

I had to replace my auxilary air regulator valve on my 84' that bolts to the head and both bolts broke off. I couldn't get them out in any way and I tried to rethread the holes but nothing worked. I am curious if I could just drill through the whole head there to hold the valve down with a bolt nut combo, or is that a bad idea? I'm just not sure how close that is to the cooling system piping inside there. Right now I just have it cable tied to some cooling pipes in the area and since the valve works off of the heat of the engine after the initial warm up time it isn't working exactly right especially now in this frigid weather in Wisconsin.
