Just a comment how interesting it is for us in the USA to get a taste of the culture that created our Vanagons. I've always felt our car culture here can sometimes be described as "I can buy parts at K-Mart that will improve my vehicle because after all those aftermarket companies and I know more about my vehicle than the factory engineers who aren't really engineers anyway do and besides it's cheaper which is the most important thing." Thanks to Helmut and his note regarding TUV approval we get a taste of the climate that produces probably a safer driving experience as well as better cars and vans. Aftermarket lugnuts? Machine the center out of a wheel? A 2-inch lift? Not this boy. |
