Just a note to tell you all that Kyle and I have been having a healthy off-line conversation on my earlier concerns (some may call them criticisms) with the Eurospec kit.

Kyle has been very helpful and forthcoming. It now appears that some of my problems and misgivings may have been amplified by inattention on the part of the installer/reseller and loss of documentation somewhere between Overland's loading dock and my engine compartment. I'll gladly leave that to the two of them to sort out.

Meanwhile, I took a weekend trip to Juarez and El Paso, putting another 700 miles on the engine and am happy to report that all went well. Mileage was around 18 (I often got 20 on the highway with the Wasserboxer). The car dropped down to 55mph on a few of the climbs along I-25, but cruised along effortlessly at 70mph - 4100rpm most of the time (remember, it's an automatic).

Once the vibration (from the exhaust?) is sorted out, it should be a real dream to drive at highway speeds. (While waiting for the promised coupler, Kyle gave me some other ideas about vibe reduction.)

Thank you Ron and the others, for providing this forum and for tolerating my non-subscriber submissions (I just couldn't keep up with the mail if I were still on list). Hopefully everyone agrees that I'm giving more than I'm taking.

With any luck, my angst (decreasing, by the way) will result in improved communications and ultimately a smoother and quicker conversion for any of you who take the plunge. Anyone wanting more information or a dialogue on the subject, please remember to e-mail me directly. And if you're ever in Albuquerque and want to see the car....

-Blaine
