I've enjoyed the writing arts for years, and some of my work has even been well received. So when I read that a Vanagon group writing contest was being contemplated, that thought laid as pleasantly in my mind as toasty hand warmer might feel in a concealed breast pocket while ascending a snowy mountain.

Then I read Per's line, "What I liked most about this car was, when pushing it through a corner, the tires riding on their edges, I just floored it, and it sucked itself to the tarmac like a Dirt Devil to a shaggy carpet ;-). " Sure I could tweak the way it's said, but could I improve on its wonderful poetic visceral impact? Nah, too tough for the kid. Great writing Per. Thanks for the mind candy. John
