I borrowed this idea from Bjorn on Vancouver Island and I must say it works quite well. I currently have two gauges in my Syncro and they look 100% stock. One is a VDO Voltmeter and the other is a VDO Oil Temp Gauge. I mounted them ahead of the gearshift just under the rear differential lock. BE CAREFULL when drilling those two inch holes for the gauges. There isn't much room to make a mistake as the heater ducts to the rear are almost in the way.
