Subject: Re: Radio locations and A/C

My father's 81 Vanagon L has this setup....it was an option at the time whether to put the a/c in-the-dash or overhead. The radio is in a plastic box just like yours. We've never gotten a cassette player to last very long because of the mounting position. A possible option maybe to buy a radio to which you can add a 6-disc CD changer under the drivers or passengers seat. Some CD changers can be mounted horizontally or vertically be the flip of a switch....I don't know of any in-dash CD's that can mount in any more the 45 degrees. My 2 Pfennigs!!!
