I've tried sending this twice and see no result in my mailbox, plus I made one mistake. I've having a problem shifting my 1987 vanagon into first gear. This started about 2-3 weeks ago. At first it sometimes did not want to go into first gear. Usually by moving the shift lever around you could get it into gear. Now it is worse. Usually if you move the shift lever clear over to the reverse detent it will go in. Sometimes I've had to depress the shift lever as if going into reverse to get it to go in. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
