Subject:      Ed's makin funny noises....

Here I am again with another painful affliction...just a few helps & questions... seems i only post when Ed's hurting...hehe

..my sweeeet widdle baby Ed is making a even soft grinding noise when I turn it on and it gets louder when the clutch pedal is pushed in. THere's no power,overheating, acceleration etc. losses...I dunno where it is. Could the fly be scraping back there? I idled it and opened up the back..and whatdya know the noise was gone, even when I pulled the accelarator cable.

Ed sometimes makes a big ugly THUMP or CLUNK when taking him out of gear; my old Bessie did that too. And I get little grinds somtimes when shifting into gear; and it's sometimes a little tricky getting into 1st when downshifting..is this really bad or can it wait? Is my tranny going & should I get another tranny ?

umm... oh and the sliding door lock is going ,I cant lock or unlock all the time..it's power so can it be fixed by me? And the door handle itself is being a pain, Its not releasing the door when I try to open it..I gotta tug on the door bigtime to get it open, the handle is a little loose...how can I get in there and fix that? Are the trim panels as easy as old bus panels to take off? are they held in by clips or what? I dont wanna take em off & ruin them! I used to use a flat head screwdriver with my 71 bus to take the panels off. I need to look at my driver's door lock too..it wont lock all the doors. And anyone got some carpet washing advice? my little one dumped OJ in the back and the gunk is still back there goobering up the rug! I need to get carpet mats!!!

Ummm...hmm whatelse...

<g>

I'll shut up now :-}

Buslady & EdII

PS: oh yeah, i just noticed a leak of some kind on the garage floor..it's oily & clear-at least I didnt notice any color to it. something's coming out of the back end anyways... reminded me of the freon leaking from one of our buses at work though.
