Eric - I'm curious. From my understanding of the nature of the V-6, ALL of them depend upon some serious counterweighting and dynamic balancing to get them to run smoothly. The GM 2.8 & 3.8s seem to me to be damn smooth running engines, at least in the GM products I've driven. The 4.3L is nothing more than a 350 Chevy with two cylinders lobbed off. As a result, parts, especially the rods, pistons and valves are MUCH cheaper than the 2.8 & 3.8. BOB - WA4RRN '85GL ALGORE FOR FOUR MORE! |
