Chris - You mentioned "turbocharger life is cut in half, when not intercooled". How does this occur? I'll admit that my turbocharger "experience" is limited to attempting to keep #2 daughter's '85 Volvo 760 Turbo perking, but from the looks of the intercooler, all is does is cool the compressed air coming from the turbo. How would the turbo know whether or not it has an intercooler "down stream", other that a bit of back pressure from having to force that air though the intercooler on its way to the engine? BOB - WA4RRN '85GL ps-#1 daughter has what I would call an '85 Volvo 244 with the same engine but non-turbocharged. My Volvo guru tells me #1's will probably will probably be prodding along LONG after #2's will need still another engine! |
