Gary - I have two projects going on, for now. One's my $100 '70 Kombi I'm trying to fit two 1200cc Harley Hog engines into. Thanks to Unca Joel & John (Blue Eyes), I've got a workable belt drive from the Harley engines to the shaft of the Van's tranny. Joel's working on a computer program from the engineering department at the University of Alabama to come up with the exact phase needed to link both the Harley engines together for minimum vibration, WITHOUT sacrificing that gorgeous Harley sound! My other project involves installing the Chevy 4.3L V-6 into a Vanagon! Neat engine!!! Pistons, rods and bearings are straight Chevy 350V-8 stuff. Computer, TPI, etc. are inexpensive AMERICAN components. Plus, it's rock solid. With the price of gasoline CHEAPER now than it has ever been within the United States, I'm not looking for gas mileage. I'm looking for something that I can replace a piston in for about the same amount of bucks I spend at Pizza Hut! BOB - WA4RRN '85GL - becoming more & more American! |
