Yes, indeed I have, and to be honest, it was nothing special, and once again, was decidedly American. I have also driven a Scirocco(my friend's 88 16v), and they felt NOTHING alike. I can't see how they would be comparable in any sense, other than the dual overhead cams. Scirocco: 2 door German sports coupe, DOHC 4 in-line, blazing acceleration (enough to stomp all over my GTI), handles like a dream, beautiful styling by Karmann, the man responsible for the Karmann Ghia Taurus SHO: 4-door American family sedan, (Japanese)DOHC V-6, not enough juice to outrun my stock GTI on the highway, handles like an American family sedan is expected to, boring styling thanks to a high school dropout in Michigan So, what were the similarities again? -Dave '88 GTi 16v '88 Vanagon GL Wolfsburg
