Subject: JUST TINKERING WITH MY '84 GL WHEN......
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

HELLO, HAVE ENJOYED THE LIST FOR THE PAST MONTH OR TWO, EVEN WITH THE OCCASIONAL BICKERING. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME HELP WITH A COUPLE OF MINOR PROBLEMS.

1. I CHANGED MY FUEL FILTER BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET TO THE CLAMPS OR FUEL LINE (THAT PROBABLY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED MORE THAN THE FILTER) FROM THE TANK TO FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THE GAS JUST KEPT COMING. IS THERE A WAY TO CLOSE THE LINE COMING FROM THE TANK SO I CAN TAKE MY TIME WITH THE FILTER AND FUEL LINE?

2. I HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AT ADJUSTING MY IDLE. KEEPS GOING UP AND DOWN, AND UP AND DOWN. REALIZED THAT I AM MISSING THE TOP SPRING ON THE THROTTLE MECHANISM. (BENTLEY, PG 24.30, FIG 24-123. THE TOP ONE GOING OFF TO THE LEFT) WHAT IS THIS SPRING CALLED, WHERE DOES IT ATTACH ON THE OTHER END, AND WHERE CAN I GET ONE?

MANY THANKS, MIKE DHUY '84 GL
