Subject: Gas Heater - BA6
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Just got done playing with our BA6 aux. heater by trial and error. Last weekend tried it as per Bentley and it makes no sense at all to me. The heater started to smoke so I looked it up in the book…diagnosis, too much fuel. Test and find that the pump is putting out almost twice what is called for…back off the adjustment till it is within specs and try it out. In the driveway, no problem…on a trip into town, low heat output and then a backfire sound out the tailpipe. Seems like too little fuel to me. I live almost at sea level so that doesn't seem to be a question as I've read about in the archives. Today I gave it some more fuel w/o testing (about half of the earlier adjustment) and it seems better. Anyone with any ideas of what I should check next?

Thanks, Mark Sheflo 82 Westy
