As I have mentioned earlier, the H1 Highbeam unit on the square-eyed Vanagon is (at least in Europe) the same unit as on the second generation of Sciroccos, the H4 unit looks similar, but they are different somehow.

What I would like to do is replace the H4 unit with a DE low beam only unit, and let the low beam stay on, even if the highbeams are on. With aux. highs, this could be done, as most european cars with dual headlights have this setup.

When driving on low beams, just the lows are on, of course, but when the highs are on, BOTH lows and highs are on at the same time. Of course, this can be done with the regular H4 units also, only a little rewiring have to be done.
