Subject: Transmission questions, '87 Syncro (Todd Hill?)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I'm getting ready to attempt a partial (I hope) rebuild on my Syncro transmission, have what parts I am sure that I need so far. The 3rd-4th shift hub I got looks identical to the original (except not broken!). Did I not get the stronger one, or how do I tell what I have? Is there a different part #? Also, what am I looking for in the 'stretched' 1st-2nd pin? Or is that something already upgraded in '87? Any other things recommended to replace while I'm in there? I have a new pinion bearing, and ring-carrier bearings if I need those (maybe a good idea anyway at 262K kilometers?). Plan to replace all syncronizer rings too. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Karl '87 Westy Syncro (soon-to-be 1.9 TD powered : the heart is almost ready to run!))
