Subject: Re: how much interest IS there in the 5cyl conversion???

Geeez, where to start...

Yes, I have put my name on the list of those very interested in this conversion. I've already started saving my allowance for same. My wasserboxer is still very new and holding water, but with driving over the mountain passes frequently and charging across the great wide open, the poor little motor just doesn't make me feel too comfortable. Putting a 5cyl turbo in my vanagon just makes me smile.

Mark(?) put a post up about driving a vanagon with a 5cyl, but he failed to mention a couple things I was really wanting to hear: where it was, who did the conversion, did it use the conversion being sold by Ken Wilfey (who sold me an ultra-cool grill: thanks!), and was it indeed a 2wheeldrive with an unaltered deck lid? These questions need to be answered before I get too excited. Is the van available for test drives by others? There are many other questions, but they can wait until later.

So, yes I'm interested, and have a couple motors ready for rebuilding (turbo even!), but until more information comes forward, I'll keep the water in the boxer...
