I'm not suggesting that a 1/2 of 1% problem rate is not to be considered, just that it is preferable to the alternative. There are only two luggage rack seals out there (not including the VW one, which is financially not a reasonable alternative). Everyone but me sells just one or the other; I offer both. One version, the bulbless version, may cause wind noise on a small percentage of Vanagons, in which case you can simply adjust the seal and/or luggage rack, or failing that, simply exchange it for the bulbed one at no extra charge. The bulbed one, on the other hand, has a potential for a far greater problem, in my opinion, in that if it interferes at all with drainage, this problem may not be discovered because any resultant rust would be hidden by the luggage rack. Obviously I have to ship one or the other, so I opt for the one that is, I think, the better of the designs for the vast majority of users. The other option would be to send the bulbed version by default, but given that I have concerns about that design, I don't feel that this would be responsible on my part. Of course, ultimately the choice is yours, since you can order either one you want.
