Hi Volks,
I have no good advise as to where to put gauges, I have mine installed
just past the cigarette lighter and it is too far away. One nice little
twist I have added to my gauges is I run a wire from the left and right
battery to the nc (normal closed) and no (normally open) spdt(single pole
double throw) switch then take the switch common to the voltage gauge. With
this setup you can monitor either battery with the flip of a switch. I also
use an electric oil pressure gauge which has a sender and a gauge. I install
3 senders 1 for oil pressure , 1for fuel pressure , and 1 for coolant
pressure. I wire the senders to a rotary switch and each is selectable for
displaying on the oil pressure gauge. The oil and fuel pressure portion
work great, however the coolant pressure at 15 psi just barely moves the
meter off the stop. The only senders I can find are for 100 psi. I need one
in the 20 - 30 psi range. If anyone knows of a sender in the 20 to even 40
or 50 psi I would like to know the source.
