I do take that attitude towards your Vanagon. Your van is not my responsibility.

So, what you're saying is it's appropriate to post something like the following... "GodDammit" I've tried everything to get my lug nuts off. What is the exact way to remove my lug nuts? Will the list administrator remove them for me?

This guy received instruction when he subscribed. Plus the listserv software is documented everywhere. If he need further help he could of been a bit more polite.
