Subject: I finally got my Vanagon...
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

The search has ended. Sitting in my driveway, buffeted by the howling NE wind and starting to show an accumulation of HEAVY lake-effect snow, is my just-brought-home-from-the-guy-that-sold-it-to-me-not-four-hours-ago, 1988 VW Vanagon Wolfsburg Weekender. 95k miles, Burgandy, grey interior, alloys with the right rating Michelin tires, very little rust for having survived it's entire life in snow bound Syracuse, NY. The interior on this Bus is mint. Even the origional fold out cup holders are intact and functional. There's not a stain anywhere. I've been out driving in the Rochest snows and am pretty impressed with the traction this thing has. Okay, it's not a Syncro, but it does pretty well. For those who are curious, I traded my '92 Passat CL, with 135k miles, and gave the guy $2500 cash.

Thank you to all who answered my questions during my search over the last six or seven months. The wisdom imparted made my search easier, helping me identify what to look for and what to run away from. Hope I can repay the favour as I become more familier with "Das Bus".

By the way, the jump seats DO have seatbelts. Imagine my surprise...
