Subject: Clutch Bleeding & Fuel Lines
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Greetings.

Alistair, I think we talked to the same mechanic. I too just replaced the master clutch cylinder. What a messy job! I used a checkvalve off the bleeder so no air would be drawn back in. Still wasn't pleased with the job, clutch pedal felt strange. Called a local mechanic to see if he could fit me in. Too busy, but suggested that I try a reverse bleed. Cleaned an old soap pump container, put the checkvalve line on, and pumped thru the slave bleeder. Worked like a charm. Also saw the same idea posted in the archives about a year ago.

On another note, while bleeding the clutch I was looking at the fuel lines thinking about all the recent mailings on leaks and fires. Thought it wise to check. Wow! 5 clamps were loose. 4 of them being the lines off the fuel rails, the other on the pressure regulator. Check those lines. Bye for now. -- R.Feuerriegel 88 syncro Victoria BC
