Darrell,

The TI part number is probably still available from electronics distributors, but most will probably not do business with an individual for a single part. I can't tell you where to easily get the TI chip, but there is a National Semiconductor part which should be a very good substitute. The part number is LMC6482AIN. You should be able to purchase it from Digi-Key, ( www.digikey.com ) or 800-344-4539. They accept credit cards and will sell small (or large) quantities to anyone.

The alpha suffixes on these part numbers are significant - The A indicates tighter specifications on electrical parameters than a part without the A, the I (eye) indicates industrial temperature range (-40C to +85C), and the N (P on the TI part number) indicates the package type is a DIP (dual in-line plastic). Don't accept any substitutes for these indicators.

Good luck!

p.s. - it's in the mid 70's here in Houston! :>)
