While checking the fuel pump wiring, check the fuel relay. It's located in the dual relay box on the driver's side of the engine compartment near the coil. A weakened relay or a poor electrical connection can cause the relay to break connection to the fuel pump.

If you had one of Darrell Boehler's Digitools, you could us it to monitor the Computer's fuel pump signal.
