I think a few valid points have been raised here - I will add a few more too.
- I would like to see no HTMLized emails posted to the list. There are a
lot of email programs out there that cannot correctly handle messages like
this. I think Bill's Outlook and Outlook Express is the biggest culprits
out there as they default to HTML over plain text when you first set them up.
- Plain text should be the "official" list format, everyone can view it and
it can be imported by almost any program out there.
- Signatures haven't been a problem from what I have seen. We are all
individuals and some people feel they should have a unique or expressive
signature. As long is it isn't rude or 50 lines long I really don't see a
problem.
- Topics should be wide open to Vanagon and Vanagon related subjects -
camping stories, journey, VW memories, how to etc are all acceptable IMHO.
There is nothing I hate worse than to see someone say "that was covered in
the archives three years ago". Most people are asking a genuine question
and want a genuine responce. It is NOT a waste of band width as some
people would put it. Every time I have seen "oh no another repeat of the
xxxx topic" I have always seen new ideas come forth.
- Have fun, don't take things too seriously like I did the other night :(
and most of all enjoy the list - that's what it is here for!
