Dave, Beautiful website. Enjoyed the pictures of your 2.1 engine rebuild. You wrote on your website: "P.S. The factory used cheap non-sodium filled exhaust valves on my old factory rebuild, the OE are supposed to be sodium filled." A question: Years back I bought a spare set of 2.1 liter cylinder heads for my vanagon. They are the ones that were still made in Germany. How can I tell if the exhaust valves in those heads are sodium filled or not? Also where did you find those 2 other sodium filled valves? I guess they are pretty hard to come by. I agree with you on the dealer rebuilts. Been through that myself with my former '81 aircooled westy. Harald '90 westy |
