Dear Readers:
I suggest the following solutions for your consideration:
1. Commercial enterprises must incorporate the word "advert" as the very
first word in the subject line of each ad;
2. Seek cooperation from commercial advertisers to not make multiple
promotions on the same day, and to group all their promotions into one
message per enterprise per day;
3. Do not discourage commercial enterprises from responding with answers
to Listee's postings where that response also carries technical information
that the individual list poster may find useful, or is generally informative
to the other potential readers, even if the commercial enterprise also may
benefit;
4. Listee's are to use the list administrator's mailbox as a destination for
all complaints regarding commercial vendors use of, or alleged abuse of the
list.
5. Form a committee of list members, who can act as independant
arbitrators of the above point #5, in the case of "serious" disputes. The
committee will not have legal responsibility, just the trust and good-will
of all list participants.
6. Reporting to the list of the findings of said committee, including
statistics, on a "regular basis".
