snip> The only thing is, there are only two ways to Churchill, air or rail (no road). So everybody's synchro would have to be freighted in from Thompson <snip> I vote we take the tracks, we just need the train schedule and a volunteer with a CB radio to drive about 2 miles ahead of the rest of the convoy, just in case... ;) and don't take this lightly, I believe Derek Drew in his pre-Syncro days took a 2WD Westy-loaf and his new bride to Labrador City this way!! Derek, pls correct me if wrong. I know one of our listmembers did!! Train tracks can't be that bad in winter, bet they are smooth and flat, packed snow and easy wheeling all the way. I'd also bet that there are snowmobile trails paralleling the tracks, our Syncros will go along them fine if wide enough and packed/frozen up a bit, BTDT. bye, Tim 'to go where no vanagon has gone before....'
