Mine is totally rusted and nasty looking. Can I just remove it all and leave the exposed groove in the rubber? Any long term damage to the rubber? I could buy all new rubber, but it's pricey for me. Any ideas? >> first of all, it cant rust since its not metal, and second, yes, you can remove it and just leave the groove open. it prys right out. i have done it with 3 vanagons, with no leaks. it looks better than that nasty faded out fake chrome plastic trim.. chris |
