I'm starting the pre-maintenance meditation and yoga necessary for any enlightening vdub work. In the tread regarding the clutch replacement (my next endeavor...) people say "you just gotta replace the pilot bearing too, you moron!" or something to that idea... I look into the works of Zen Bentley and see that the pilot bearing looks like fun to get out! Am I missing something? Is this something that the garage mechanic can easily do? Or am I looking at a case-splitting epic? Should I not worry about the bearing, turn the music up and have another beer while shooting at road signs? Back in the days when I drove and worked on bugs, a clutch job was easy, am I looking at the same amount of labor or less? How many beers should this take me? Hopefully less than 4 because my workmanship starts to slip off around 3 and a half. Thanks prodigy matthew 84 weekend wolfsy |
