From: KENWILFY@AOL.COM > Charlie, the 1.9lTD heads have been machined to accept the 1.6l > manifold. Not tottally clear on how they do this but I could get some > more info for you if you want. Huh? The ports on the 1.9l Head are much bigger and D shaped. How can you un-machine material back on to the head to fit the smaller 1.6l manifolds? More likely it's a 1.6l head on a 1.9l shortblock. They are interchangable. Only drawback is that the 1.6 has more restrictive passages and smaller valves. /m -- Westy 1.9l Turbo Diesel Quantum 1.6l Turbo Diesel Martin Jagersand email: jag@cs.yale.edu Computer Science Department jag@cs.rochester.edu Yale University Slow down and visit the VW diesel Westy page: WWW: http://www.cs.rochester.edu/u/jag/vw ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
