I had to replace one of the upper ball joints in my 1985 CrewCab last week. The boot had long ago ripped and the interior of the joint was completely rusty. During the last few hundred miles or so, the joint had gotten real sloppy and the steering was beginning to be affected, so I replaced it. Pretty easy job! Feel free to check out the pictures and text at: http://www.relitech.com/tomc/tomvw.htm There is a link to the balljoint how-to right on the main page. I'm also going to replace all my front wheel bearings next week, so I will have another article then. -- TomC tcarrington@relitech.com http://www.relitech.com/tomc/tomvw.htm 85 Vanagon CrewCab 82 Vanagon Westy diesel =>gas conversion 65 Notchback |
