Except the vanagon squares do not slip into frames, the reflector has the mounting tabs attached to it. Since the mounts are mirror on the lo/hi reflectors, a separate reflector is needed for each side. The was a discussion on the list a while back about differences between e-code lights and DOT lights. If remember correctly, one of the differences was that the left beam pattern had a sharper left hand cutoff so as not to blind on coming drivers. I could be very mistaken on that though.
