Using the drag and efficiency figures for the 1.6l Diesel and calculating mpg for driving at a constant 30mph you get an astonishing 60mpg! For comparison if you drive flat out don't expect more than 20mpg. I'd always been curious to see how close to the 60 mpg figure one can get in reality.

Someone with a Vanagon Diesel living near a long flat stretch of road that's willing to try? Like maybe I95 from NC to FLA?
