George - By April, I should have, in stock, several mercury vapor, 12vdc, 500mm round searchlights from recently moth-balled Andropov-class Navy destroyers. These are 10 mega CP units which are suitable for mounting on the front (or rear) bumpers of Vanagons. What's so interesting about these lighting units is the fact that they have mechanical "irises" for varying the amount of CP one projects PLUS a mechanically variable reflector assembly for focuis purposes. According to Karpov Surplus Sales, in Valdivostok, they enable one to see about 2 miles in total darkness and about 1/4 mile in dense fog/rain/snow.

A pair of these dudes should eliminate "overdriving" one's headlights in a Vanagon. A pair of them should allow one to rule the road!

I hope to be able to offer these for $1795.00 each - $1622.34/each without the infrared snap-on lens.
