These were available in Europe, but very rare in the USA (until the late 80's, where the power convex ones became standard). At one time I had an opportunity to import some directly from Europe at a price of about $40 each (double the price of flat ones), but had to buy about thirty of them. I offered them to the list but dropped the idea after receiving only two serious responses from list members.
