Subject: Easy to rebuild the PS pump
Content-Type: text/plain

My power steering pump has been leaking oil for about two years now. I finally rebuilt it. I first looked for a rebuilt one, but they run into the low 200 smackers! So for 22.95, from RON at the BUS DEPOT (www.busdepot.com) I purchased an OEM rebuild kit. Here is how it goes: remove the pump take the pump apart (look in Bentley for a schematic) replace the rubber parts and the circlip. reassemble oil all parts torque all bolts to the specs re-install completely fill the fluid reservoir turn the steering wheel from side to side to help suck fluid into the pump start the car and immediately turn it off. do this a few times (per Bentley. Probably could just spin the pump by hand w/o the belt on?) fill the reservoir again check for leaks and funny noises

that was it. Took less than one beer to do. Really really easy. email me if you need specifics.
