John and list, I am pretty postitive that Bentley doesn't make a manual for the Vanagons in South Africa or if they do it is just for the dealer. I looked into getting a manual from VW of South Africa a while back (as it would be nice to go along with our conversion kits) and they wanted around $300 US just for one part of a two part shop manual! I talked to my contact in SA and he confirmed that there are no manuals made by Bentley for the "end user" over there just a shop manual used by dealerships and auto shops. Also he told me that if VW sold me a manual it would be strange because they usually didn't sell these to anyone. As for a reason why, I guess from what I have heard, that the Caravelle is considered a very high end vehicle over there. You only have one if you are "well off". So if you have the bucks to own one then I guess they figure that you have the bucks to take it to the dealer to get it worked on. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
