Subject: A new thread . . .
Content-Type: text/plain

In lieu of the regularly scheduled spam war, I thought I'd start a new thread:

What is the most interesting "thing" (that could mean a story, too) that you found in/about your van after buying it from a PO?

I'm still finding cool places to stick things in my van ('85 Westy GL), like the 1 1/2 inch space that is under the drivers seat PAST the aux. battery compartment, and the little space between the van wall and the right side of the rear bench seat, and all the other little compartments found hither, thither, and yon in our vans.

I know, Westys have more little compartments, but I want to hear about anything found in any Vanagon from a PO (or even dealership, I guess).

To date, here is a (pretty boring) list of what the PO left for me in our Westy:

The WRONG coolant (yep, she's leaking now) The WRONG tires (yep, the've been replaced) A fishing hook embedded in the carpet Various lures, weights, and a length of fishing line A fishing cooler (complete with small pieces of dried fish) A coffee maker that plugs into the cigarette lighter (doesn't work) A "Never Break" comb Various candy/cracker wrappers $0.23 An eyeglass case (hung in the swivel mechanism under the driver's seat) Four REALLY tacky faux-chrome hubcaps with cheap sticker in middle (replaced)

Well, that's about it. How 'bout it folks, a fun topic for a change?

-Patrick <>< Radford, VA '85 Westy GL "Vicki"
