I really hate to add to this thread piling up in everyone's mailboxes, but since it seems to be coming to some sort of vote or so, I felt I should probably speak up. I appreciate the vendors information on the list. They will often give great information on what part you need for what...being new to vw's something that I don't know much about...they don't demand that if they tell you what part something is or what something should cost that you buy it from them. I probably will buy some parts from them, I probably will let my local vanagon repair place provide me with others. Yes, it is some advertising...but I almost always learn something.

Here is my suggestion. Several lists that I am on have multiple subject headings . It isn't a list sever setup...it is something you have to type in every time. For example, those emails that contain advertising for parts could put [ad] at the beginning of the subject line, someone selling their vanagon or giving us listings from their local papers could put [fs] etc. Then if you don't want to read the posts from those on the list that are also vw vendors letting you know what is available (often at a vanagon list discount from what I remember noticing)...you can just DELETE.

Where this fits into David's list of choices is leave things as it is...just add subject header.

Cheers, Kriss
