Just found this out myself a couple of weeks ago...

Fill the hole with some cheap grease and wads of paper towels until it's full. Get a long socket and a 3/8" extension piece 12" long.

Take a rubber mallot and pop the extension with the socket into the pilot bearing. Hydraulic pressure will force the bearing out. Remarkably easy! You don't need a socket extension...anything that will fit tight in the pilot bearing will work. I just used a 10mm long socket that fit just right.
