My '86 Westy still has no fire from the coil. I am leaning towards a bad coil. An easy plug and play fix. I have a spare. Questions: I have looked in the Bentley. Apart from testing resistance on the coil, how can you test to see if it is bad? Also, the Bentley calls for a green label coil to replace the gray label coil. The installed coil is a green label Bosch part number 1 220 512 016 My spare was gotten from NAPA about 5 years ago. IT was manufactured in Germany by PVL ?? It lists the Bosch number as 0 221 122 349. Will this spare replace the old coil? Murphy's Law and a gut feeling tell me no. Does anyone know?? thanks, Dan Hall 1986 Westy "Das Boot"(I finally got the spelling write.....errr.....right:-) shoulda looked at the videotape on my desk.
