Last year I had that problem and (after much dicking around) it turned out to be the ignition switch. Definately first try tapping the starter body to (possibly) loosen the brushes though. If you can, you may want to push start it and then re-try the starter when you get to your destination -- sometimes starters just cop an attitude for a bit, then work just fine. Good Luck!
